A robot is an intelligent agent that can perform mechanical tasks on their own or with help. The word robot can also be applied to a virtual agent. In practice it is usually electro-mechanical machine that is guided by computer or electronic programming. The robots can be autonomous or semi-autonomous and come in two basic types: those used for research in human-like systems, such as ASIMO and Topio, and those in more defined and specific roles that the robot Nano swarm robots and robots that are used to make or move things or do housework or dangerous, such as industrial robots and mobile robots or maintenance. Another common feature is that, by its appearance or movements, a robot is often a sense that it has intent or agency itself.
